A Purple Slice Of Valentine

Hellurr… can you smell the sweet purple slice of valentine already? I can! Really exciting. And no it’s not because I get to spend time with the lover, receive or send gifts, it mostly has something to do with just appreciating God for seeing another Valentine! An additional eye and heart candy is watching everyone get so excited about it. Love the humour that comes with it! As usual, I have a tune to go with today’s post, Rosanna by Toto. It’s an 80’s tune but it’s so good and perfectly fits the season!

Last year I did a post on what to gift that special someone and I think you can still get a few tips off that. I also collaborated with some awesome bloggers to do some style lookbook. It was dope! This time though, with all the suggestions online, I thought it best to do a style post for the working woman. You do know valentine falls on a Tuesday this time so how do you look your stylish best without looking too obvious and out-of-place at the office? Ask no more, I got you. Indeed this post is for the 9-5 ladies among us, however, who says you can’t steal the style even if you don’t fall in that bracket? Guys, there’s a valentine manday special here for you!

I don’t know about you but I’m done with the cliché red look. Hellurr purple. There is a classy and royal feel that comes with wearing purple. In this post, I styled this Zara peplum dress with bright accessories. Some offices won’t tolerate such bold accessories so you may want to dial down a little. If not, go all the way baby. For your shoes, keep it simple. I had the option of wearing nudes, which would have been equally pretty, but I chose black.

If you’ll be going on a date, do look extraordinary! Yes I know we shouldn’t wait till February 14th to look our best for our lover, or share gifts, but hey, you can use this opportunity to start that habit. Give because you love, not because you’re expecting anything in return. Ladies, make him feel special with a thoughtful gift, or dinner outing (expensive or not). Guys, I trust you to do good by your women too.

And for the single darlings, take your time to enjoy the moment! It’s just 24-hours and before you know it it’s gone. So if you can, pamper yourself too. I love Grace’s take on how to chill out on Tuesday! You can also give gifts to your friends, family, the less privileged among us. Love isn’t stereotypical or one-directional. Love is universal.
